Apple seeded iPad iOS 4.3 to developers and there are some new features we can look forward to. There are some really cool new gestures in iOS 4.3 specifically for the iPad as well as a few other features.
iPad iOS 4.3 Features
- You pinch to get to the Home screen (instead of pressing the home button)
- Swipe up to reveal the multitasking tray (instead of double-clicking the home button)
- Swipe left and right to switch apps
There are also new AirPlay features. Apparently iOS 4.3 is bringing back the ability for AirPlay to stream 3rd party video apps which is a great thing for all those apps that have movies in them.
And, iOS 4.3 appears to add an option for returning the hardware orientation lock that disappeared in iOS 4.2. There is a preference that allows users to choose whether to use the switch on the side of the iPad for hardware orientation or the current function, muting.
We are installing the iOS 4.3 Beta and will have a full guide explaining how to use all of the new features as soon as it gets closer to release. Stay tuned for how to use 4.3 and how to get the most out of it.
